Course Summary:

This online Short Course introduces the healthcare needs of overseas-born peoples and the newer members of Australia’s multicultural landscape.

Learning Outcomes:  

  1. Identify social and health-related issues for migrant populations from historical and current perspectives in the Australian context
  2. Recognise the barriers faced by migrant populations to health care services
  3. Identify a number of Government policies aimed at responding to the social and health care needs of overseas-born peoples
  4. Recognise the health-related issues for migrants of planned migration and asylum seekers.

This course provides Professional Development for health professionals.

Undertaking this course enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession.
