Course Summary:
It is well understood that some individuals and population groups in society have poorer health outcomes than others. This online Short Course introduces how situational, psychological and social determinants of health, such as access to physical,
cultural and financial resources, social and emotional resources and other barriers can have a profound impact on our health.
Learning Outcomes:
- Define the meaning of social determinants of health
- Identify how social determinants can create health inequities and social injustice for different groups of people
- Recognise the nurse’s role as an individual in the delivery of equitable health care.
