Course Summary:

Those with a disability may require various types of assistance from basic care needs to more complex needs. This online Short Course is designed to assist both disability employees and carers with providing some of those needs. The course introduces thae employee or carer to several aspects of personal care as well as developing communicating with dignity and respect whilst providing health care.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Gain an understanding of clinical topics in:
    • Skin Integrity
    • PEG Care
    • Catheter Management
    • Bowel Care
    • Management of Aspiration
  2. Assisting clients with Self-Administration of Medication
  3. Understand the key principles underpinning the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia.

Undertaking this course enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession.
