Course Summary:

This online Short Course will provide Student Experience Mentors at CQUniversity with the required knowledge and skills to provide support to their student peers in their CQUniversity education journey. The course content, developed by key experts in the fields of education, psychology, research and instructional design provides advice, tools, and tips for developing mentoring and peer support skills as a lifelong skill through the Personalising the Student Experience program (PSE). 

Learning Outcomes:  

  1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of the student mentor at CQUniversity
  2. Develop mentoring and counselling skills to provide peer support to fellow students
  3. Reflect on the key elements of mentoring in the social, emotional and educational journey of those you support
  4. Outline the appropriate responses and support services available to students in need on referral and counselling services provided by CQUniversity.

Fee: Free for CQUniversity student mentors

Intakes:  CQUniversity Student Mentors will be enrolled for the duration of their mentoring role.

Outcomes, Career Opportunities and Occupations:

Undertaking this course enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours and a CQUniversity Certificate of Completion.
